In love with creating beautiful, unique jewelry and original art. That pretty much sums it up! I’ve been passionate for years about creating in these two genres. After a decade or so making jewelry and art for friends and family and doing the occasional craft show, I decided to take a leap and set up this small business. I always knew that doing something creative would need to be part of my life. I’ve had a fascination with color and texture since I was small and insisted on dressing myself in some, shall we say, very interesting color combinations.Â
After studying to get an MFA in painting, I found my way to making kiln fired glass. As the creative director for Miila Studios, I designed , hand painted and produced many collections of specialty glass tile. During this time I learned how to make glass pendants for jewelry and was instantly intrigued. I started to design pieces of jewelry as a whole and ended up with much more of a passion for jewelry making than I ever had for glass tile.Â
My jewelry designs are eclectic and always evolving. I’m influenced by styles as diverse as Victorian to Modern. I love the idea of showcasing reproduction coins from centuries ago with modern elements like sparkling cubic zirconia and unusual chain components. As a creative thinker I’m always on the lookout for new ways to pair different elements together in a relatable and relevant design. Utilizing pendants, links, crystals , chains and other materials in interesting combinations is both challenging and characteristic in my work. I may start with a sketch or a vision of what I want the final product to look like, but what I love is that as I work, each step almost always influences a different version of the original idea. Creating a piece of artwork or jewelry that others find beautiful or get pleasure from is truly one of the most rewarding parts of the process. My pieces are made with love-enjoy!
